'Aneesha' the Rhapsody

Globally-Influenced Multidisciplinary Art
Aneesha K is an Indian vocal performer, arranger, and stage manager from Mumbai, a city where global music, languages, and cultures intertwine. Growing up in an environment shaped by Indian classical traditions, Western pop, global folk music, and the cinematic world of Bollywood, she developed a deep love for emotional, theatrical storytelling. Bollywood’s musical language: genre-bending, groove-driven, and inherently dramatic - has shaped her artistic identity and continues to influence the way she performs, writes, and leads creative projects.
With over ten years in the soprano section of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation’s Singing Tree Choir, Aneesha learned and performed classical, folk, and traditional music from around the world. Beyond the classical sphere, she fronted pop/rock bands for fundraising concerts, galas, and festivals, gaining early experience in live performance, ensemble leadership, and adapting diverse genres for the stage.
At just fourteen, Aneesha was selected for private vocal and theory training by Salome Rebello. Salome’s mentorship transformed her trajectory, guiding her into musical theatre, jazz, and contemporary vocal technique - and planting the early seeds for the arranger and storyteller she is today.
Now a Berklee-trained performer, Aneesha has expanded her craft far beyond singing. As an arranger, she loves translating the cinematic scale of Bollywood and musical theatre-rock into intimate small-band settings: using rhythm section, a single brass or string voice, and layered backing vocals to recreate the drama, emotional punch, and energy of a full film-score ensemble. A tight band and two or more vocalists, she believes, can capture the electricity of the music she grew up with, even for audiences hearing it for the first time.
Alongside her work as a performer and arranger, Aneesha is also a stage manager and production creative, having worked on productions in both Boston and Mumbai. She has worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for shows such as Hamlet at Harvard University and supported operations at Boston Conservatory Concert Services, gaining hands-on experience with show flow, technical coordination, cue management, lighting, and backstage communication. This dual identity, artist and production lead, deeply shapes how she approaches collaboration and the live music experience.
At the centre of everything, Aneesha's core guiding belief:
Music is most powerful when performance, storytelling, and production work together and when artists collaborate and honour the worlds that shaped them.
